Job Summary The Commi is responsible for assisting in food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, ensuring food quality standards, and supporting smooth kitchen operations. The role requires adherence to food safety regulations, consistency in food preparation, and efficient coordination with the kitchen team. Key Responsibilities - Prepare food items as per standard recipes and presentation guidelines. - Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and food production. - Ensure timely preparation of food orders while maintaining quality standards. - Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas. - Follow all FSSAI, food safety, and hygiene standards. - Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Kitchen Supervisor. - Store raw materials and prepared food appropriately to maintain freshness. - Minimize food wastage by following portion control standards. - Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues. - Support inventory checks and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO). - Ensure compliance with company SOPs, health, and safety guidelines. - Work collaboratively with the service team to ensure an excellent guest experience. Required Qualifications - Minimum 10th/12th Pass or Diploma/Certificate in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts (preferred). - 1–3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, QSR, restaurant, or multiplex food court. - Freshers with relevant culinary training may also be considered. Skills & Competencies - Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations. - Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Team player with good communication skills. - Time management and multitasking abilities. - Positive attitude and willingness to learn. - Flexibility to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Preferred Attributes - Customer-focused approach. - Ability to perform under pressure. - High level of discipline and attention to detail. - Physically fit to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen operations. Working Conditions - Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays. - Indoor kitchen environment with exposure to heat and kitchen equipment. - Compliance with company grooming and uniform standards at all times.
