Fire And Safety Officer

Job description

• Ensure fire and life safety of patients, staff, visitors, and hospital property. • Conduct regular fire safety inspections and risk assessments. • Monitor fire alarm, hydrant, sprinkler, extinguisher, and emergency systems. • Ensure fire exits, staircases, fire doors, and emergency routes are accessible. • Conduct fire drills, mock drills, and emergency evacuation exercises. • Train staff on fire prevention, extinguisher use, and emergency response. • Ensure safe storage and handling of oxygen, medical gases, and flammable materials. • Prepare and maintain fire emergency and evacuation plans. • Coordinate with hospital departments and external fire/emergency services. • Investigate fire incidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions. • Maintain fire safety records, inspection reports, certificates, and drill records. • Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety standards and regulations. • Monitor contractor activities, hot work, and other fire-risk activities. • Promote fire safety awareness and a strong safety culture throughout the hospital.
