It's a Lead Role Heres what you can expect: The role holder supports 247 IBM Z mainframe operations, ensuring platform stability and adherence to established operational controls and procedures. Youll monitor mainframe consoles, respond to system and application alerts (including dataset, CICS and DB2), manage batch and online workloads (using JCL and scheduling tools such as TWS), and carry out standard operational activities such as job submission, controlled restarts, and assisting with IPL support under supervision. Youll also support Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, executing defined runbook steps, validations, and evidence capture, while maintaining strong shift handover discipline and adherence to operational controls Technical Requirements • IBM Z console operations: monitor system messages, alerts, and logs; respond appropriately to maintain service availability. • Monitor job execution, troubleshoot failures, restart/release jobs, and ensure dependencies and priorities are met. • Submit, schedule, and manage batch processing using JCL and job scheduling tools such as TWS. • Support IPL activities, role swaps, and controlled component restarts. • Perform routine housekeeping activities and help ensure resiliency through disciplined operational execution. • Respond to CICS and DB2 alerts and perform first-line checks/escalations using documented procedures. • 24/7 shift operations: Work rotating shifts and manage incidents efficiently to maintain high availability. • Participate in retrospectives and contribute to process improvements, including automation to reduce BAU toil. • Coordinate with Service Centre and support teams for escalation, resolution, reporting, and operational communications. Qualifications • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline (preferred). • 10+ years of relevant experience in mainframe or enterprise operations/support. • Working understanding of ITIL processes and procedures (incident, problem, change, shift handover discipline). • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with calm execution under pressure. • Culturally aware and sensitive in a global, diverse environment • Flexible and dependable during high-severity incidents and operational peaks • Demonstrates ownership, follows runbooks/controls, and captures evidence where required If you're interested, Share your CV to- nharitha@teksystems.com
