Qualification • B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution. • Valid KNC registration is mandatory. • BLS certification preferred; ACLS certification will be an added advantage. Experience • 14 years of relevant experience in Cath Lab, Cardiology, ICU, CCU, or Emergency Care. • Candidates with direct Cath Lab experience will be preferred. Key Responsibilities • Assist the cardiologist and Cath Lab team during diagnostic and interventional procedures. • Prepare patients for procedures, including pre-procedure assessment, consent verification, and checklist completion. • Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and overall condition during procedures. • Assist with preparation and maintenance of sterile equipment and Cath Lab supplies. • Administer medications, contrast media, and emergency drugs as per physician orders and hospital protocols. • Maintain accurate nursing documentation, procedure records, and medication charts. • Monitor patients during post-procedure recovery and identify early signs of complications. • Assist in managing emergencies such as arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, bleeding, and contrast reactions. • Ensure infection-control, radiation-safety, and patient-safety protocols are followed. • Coordinate with cardiologists, technicians, anaesthesia teams, and other departments for smooth patient flow. • Ensure proper inventory and availability of critical Cath Lab consumables and emergency equipment. Key Skills • Strong knowledge of cardiac procedures and patient monitoring. • Knowledge of Cath Lab protocols, sterile techniques, and emergency response. • Ability to handle high-pressure clinical situations. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Strong observation, documentation, and patient-care skills. • Willingness to work in rotational shifts and on-call duties. Preferred Competencies • Experience with procedures such as Coronary Angiography, PTCA/PCI, Pacemaker/Device procedures. • Knowledge of cardiac emergency management. • ACLS/BLS certification. • Ability to operate and assist with Cath Lab equipment and monitoring systems.
