**Job Description Operation Theatre (OT) Technician** **Location:** BHEL General Hospital, Hyderabad **Department:** Operation Theatre (OT) **Position:** OT Technician **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Job Summary** BHEL General Hospital is looking for dedicated and physically fit **Male OT Technicians** to support the smooth functioning of the Operation Theatre. The selected candidates will be responsible for sterilization, preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments, assisting during surgical procedures, handling OT equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of the operation theatre. **Key Responsibilities** - Perform linen folding and preparation for OT procedures. - Clean and disinfect surgical instruments following the prescribed sterilization process. - Prepare, operate, and monitor autoclave machines for instrument sterilization. - Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of OT instruments and equipment. - Clean and disinfect OT surfaces, monitors, cautery machines, laparoscopes, and other medical equipment. - Carry out OT fogging as per hospital protocols. - Prepare surgical instrument trolleys before surgeries. - Provide surgical instruments and supplies during operations as required. - Handle electrical OT equipment safely during procedures. - Maintain adequate stock of medicines, disposable items, consumables, and surgical supplies. - Maintain records of drugs, endotracheal tubes, Ambu bags, fluids, and other consumables. - Ensure the proper functioning of anesthesia machines, suction machines, ventilators, and gas cylinders. - Assist in patient positioning on the OT table and transfer patients safely between OT tables, trolleys, and recovery rooms. - Clean and maintain anesthesia trolleys, endotracheal tubes, and surgical instruments. - Attend emergency OT duties, including weekends and public holidays, as per roster. - Support fellow technicians during staff shortages or emergencies. **Qualifications** - Diploma in Medical Sterilization Management and Operation Theatre Technology (2-year course) or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute. - Valid registration with any State Paramedical Board. - Minimum **6 months of experience** in an Operation Theatre of a reputed hospital. - Experience in sterilization, OT equipment handling, and surgical instrument management is preferred. **Skills Required** - Knowledge of OT protocols and sterilization techniques. - Familiarity with autoclave operations and infection control practices. - Ability to handle OT equipment and surgical instruments. - Good communication and teamwork skills. - Basic documentation and inventory management skills. - Ability to work under pressure during emergency situations. **Physical Requirements** - Candidate should be physically fit to assist in positioning and transferring patients safely. - Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling activities. **Gender Requirement** - **Male Candidates Only** (as per the operational requirement involving patient handling and physical assistance). **Working Conditions** - Rotational shifts. - Emergency call duties as per hospital requirements. - OT services operate **247**, including Sundays and public holidays. **Preferred Experience** Candidates with prior experience working in a **Government Hospital** or **Reputed Multispecialty Hospital** Operation Theatre will be given preference. **Reach out in WhatsApp: 7981132036**
