Procurement Head Roles & Responsibilities 1. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing • Develop and execute procurement strategy for both domestic and international sourcing, especially China. • Identify, evaluate and onboard reliable vendors based on cost, quality, capacity and delivery timelines. • Develop alternate sources to reduce vendor dependency and supply-chain risks. • Manage end-to-end procurement for automotive aftermarket/accessories and related products. 2. China Vendor Management • Identify and develop new vendors/manufacturers across China. • Manage existing China vendor relationships and ensure timely production and deliveries. • Negotiate product pricing, MOQ, payment terms, tooling costs, lead time and commercial terms. • Coordinate with China vendors for OEM/ODM, private-label, SKD/CKD and customized product requirements. • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and work on cost and quality improvement. 3. Domestic Vendor Management • Develop and maintain a strong network of Indian suppliers/manufacturers. • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, credit period, MOQ and delivery schedules. • Ensure domestic vendors meet defined quality, capacity and service-level requirements. • Identify opportunities for local sourcing/substitution wherever commercially viable. 4. Cost Optimization • Drive continuous cost reduction through price negotiation, alternate sourcing, bulk procurement and localization. • Conduct should-cost and market-price analysis before finalizing vendors. • Benchmark domestic vs. international sourcing costs to determine the most viable sourcing option. • Track procurement savings and ensure achievement of annual cost-saving targets.
