Job description

**Key Responsibilities** **1. Clinical Responsibilities** - Conduct **antenatal (ANC), postnatal (PNC), and gynaecology assessments** - Monitor **labour and delivery (normal & assisted)** under supervision - Assist/perform **minor and major obstetric & gynaecological procedures** - Manage obstetric emergencies (e.g., PPH, eclampsia) - Provide post-delivery care to mother and newborn - Assist in OPD, ward rounds, and emergency care **2. Patient Safety & NABH Compliance** - Adhere to **NABH protocols** for patient identification and informed consent - Ensure compliance with **Safe Delivery Practices & Checklists** - Follow **infection control practices** and biomedical waste management - Maintain accurate and complete **medical records/documentation** **3. Labour Room & OT Management** - Ensure readiness of labour room and emergency equipment - Monitor fetal well-being (CTG, fetal heart rate) - Coordinate with anesthesia and pediatric teams during deliveries - Maintain aseptic techniques in OT and labour room **4. Communication & Coordination** - Communicate effectively with patients and relatives - Coordinate with nursing staff, NICU, and other departments - Provide counselling on pregnancy, delivery, and postnatal care **5. Training & Quality Initiatives** - Participate in **CME programs, drills, and NABH training** - Contribute to **clinical audits and quality improvement activities** - Support training of junior staff and interns **Key Skills Required** - Strong clinical and obstetric skills - Emergency management (labour & delivery complications) - Effective communication and counselling skills - Teamwork and quick decision-making **Performance Indicators** - Maternal and neonatal outcomes - Adherence to NABH protocols - Documentation quality and completeness - Participation in audits and training **Additional Responsibilities** - Attend emergency calls and night duties - Assist in high-risk pregnancy management - Follow hospital policies and ethical standards **NABH-Specific Requirements** - Compliance with **patient safety goals** - Participation in **quality indicators & audits** - Adherence to **infection control and safety protocols** - Proper documentation as per NABH standards**Role & responsibilities** **Preferred candidate profile**
