**Position Purpose** **General Requirements**: PI Industries is looking for a highly motivated Research Scientist to drive impactful research and development. This role involves designing and executing scientific experiments, interpreting results, and delivering valuable insights to enhance PI's business. **Functional Requirements**: We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with a background in development, optimization, and scale-up of downstream purification processes for biologicals, particularly recombinant proteins. **What Youll Do:** - Contributing strategically to the overall success of Biotechnology R&D by driving innovation and enhancing team performance, aligning with departmental/organizational goals. - Ensuring the security of intellectual property for R&D. - Carrying out literature search by use of all available databases. - Conduct research and develop microbial consortia for wastewater treatment - Design and execute experiments for the purification of proteins using chromatography, filtration, and other downstream techniques. - Develop, evaluate, and characterize purification processes from lab to pilot scale. - Collaborate with upstream, analytical, and formulation teams to ensure end-to-end process integration. - Preparing technical reports and document all research results obtained. - Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams as per requirement. - Constructive and active participations in all technical and functional meetings of the group. - Stay updated with advancements in biochemistry and downstream processing. - Adhere to all safety protocols and proactively participate in laboratory maintenance. - Attention to details in experimental design, execution and data analysis and interpretation. **What You Bring:** - **Qualification:** Masters or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related field from a reputed University with excellent academic credentials, and peer-reviewed papers/ patents - **Experience:** - Associate Research Scientist: M. Sc./Ph.D. with 0 3 years of experience in downstream processing of protein purification & downstream (industrial) - Research Scientist: M. Sc./ Ph.D. 3–5 years of hands-on experience in downstream processing of protein purification & downstream (industrial) - Proficiency in protein purification techniques (e.g., affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion chromatography). - Familiarity with process development tools and analytical methods (e.g., SDS-PAGE, HPLC, UV spectroscopy). - Experience with scale-up and tech transfer is a plus. - **Functional Competencies:** Scientific knowledge, Experimental skills, Documentation, Data reporting, analysis and interpretation - **Behavioural Competencies:** Drive for result, Clear communication, Safety/process adherence, Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. - **Industry to be hired from:** Biotechnology, Biopharma, Agrochemical Interested candidates can share their cv's directly on **shubhi.chandnani@piind.com**
