**Designation - Sales Manager/ Unit Sales Manager** **Function - Sales & Distribution (Agency Channel)** **Location : Industrial Estate Cluster (e.g., MIDC / GIDC / SIPCOT belt)** - Rajkot - Vadodara - Nagpur Palghar - Mumbai & Thane - Chennai - Coimbatore **Reports To** :Zonal Manager/ Chief Manager (Agency Channel) **Grade :** Sales Manager / Unit Senior Manager **Travel**:Extensive within assigned territory **CTC Range** : As per industry benchmark + performance variable **Job Purpose:** - Own and grow SME insurance distribution within an assigned industrial estate / MSME cluster by expanding the agent, POSP and broker network, deepening relationships with factory owners and industrial associations, and delivering sustainable GWP growth across Fire, Marine, Engineering, Liability, Workmen's Compensation and Health lines. **Key Responsibilities :** - Expand distribution footprint by recruiting, onboarding and activating new agents, POSPs, brokers and corporate agents across the industrial estate / cluster. - Build and maintain relationships with industrial estate associations, MSME units, factory owners and local trade bodies to generate business leads - Drive new business GWP and renewal retention for Fire, Marine Cargo, Liability, Engineering, Workmen's Compensation/EB and Health products. - Conduct regular product, underwriting and compliance training for channel partners to improve quality of business sourced. - Coordinate with underwriting, claims and operations teams to ensure smooth policy issuance, risk inspection and claims servicing for clients. - Map competitor presence and market share within the territory and identify white-space opportunities for new touchpoints. - Monitor partner productivity, persistency and loss ratios; take corrective action on underperforming relationships - Represent the company at industrial estate events, trade fairs and association meetings to build brand visibility. **Key Result Areas:** - New business GWP achievement vs. target (industrial / MSME segment). - Number of new active distribution touchpoints (agents/POSPs/brokers) on-boarded per quarter. - Policy renewal / retention ratio and portfolio loss ratio within acceptable limits. - Cross-sell ratio (multiple product lines per client) and average ticket size growth. **Qualifications & Experience :** - Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing or Insurance preferred. - IRDAI licensing knowledge and familiarity with agency/broker channel management preferred. - Working knowledge of the local language and willingness to travel extensively within the territory. **Key Skills :** - Channel & relationship management, consultative selling and negotiation. - Sound product and underwriting knowledge across commercial/industrial insurance lines. - Target orientation, market mapping and data-driven territory planning. - Strong communication, training and on-ground problem-solving ability.
