Procurement is responsible for working withteams to contract indirect goods and services (non-retail). Our goal is to support indirect spend per theDelegation of Authority Policy by identifying sourcing opportunities, ensuring contract requirements are met,and operationalizing negotiated vendor agreements. We use good data, in-depth analysis and cross-functionalinsights to identify and communicate the best practices that elevate our sourcing and procurement work toits highest potential.A role with Procurement Services is a chance to positively impact several key areas of Target’s business by:• Promoting best practices across the entire company by developing deep knowledge and clientrelationships in each spend category• Providing expert integrated business planning and stakeholder management for all indirect items andservices• Applying intelligent rate, demand and specification levers to source, negotiate and contract serviceswhile sustainably lowering costs• Propelling the business with accurate and comprehensive demand forecasting, financial planning andwork order setup• Changing the game for our internal online catalog end users by making the entire buying processfaster and simpler• Helping us cultivate Target’s partnerships with diverse, community-minded suppliers whoare committed to economic development and job growthPrimary FunctionAs a Senior Specialist, you will be managing daily operational activities which involves supporting stores andHQ teams with regards to procurement of Indirect goods and services. You would work closely with partnersacross the business to enhance process knowledge and deliver critical outcomes. As part of your keyresponsibilities, you would need to:• Support store team members with queries related to Indirect procurement leveraging availableresources like applications, knowledge documents and Standard operating procedures• Indirect Category Management: Own and manage one or more Indirect categories.o Enhance knowledge and deepen understanding of the category owned; analyze data to identifybusiness requirement and trends; work across business lines to remove barriers.o Understand Indirect Procurement data across channels; identify and leverage relevant datasource to monitor key business metrics for each category and present them to leadership andIndirect Planning teams.o Build and maintain trusted partnership with key stakeholders (Indirect Planning team, StoreInsights team) through effective communication of progress and challenges• Purchase Order management - Initiate the creation and maintenance of Purchase Orders forassigned commodities and processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery• Liaise with Finance and Contract & Catalog management team for vendor setup and processingpayment requests• Ensure compliance with all accounting practices, audit procedures and purchasing policies.• Highly adaptable with demonstrated ability to work independently to prioritize and completemultiple assignments at one timeAbout You:• 0-2 years procurement experience with record of increased responsibility and/or complexity• Strong problem solving and analytical skills• Good communication and organizational skills• Comfortable in handling data, data cleaning and deriving insights from the same• Passion for owing processes end to end by actively communicating with US partners• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to solve a problem• Systems knowledge including SAP - Ariba, Microsoft Office and other system
