Job Description Emergency Executive Position: Emergency Executive Department: Emergency & Trauma Services Reporting To: Emergency Department Manager / Operations Manager Role Overview: The Emergency Executive is responsible for coordinating and supporting the smooth functioning of the Emergency Department, ensuring timely patient care, efficient coordination between clinical and non-clinical teams, and a high-quality patient experience. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate patient registration, admission, transfer, discharge, and billing processes in the Emergency Department. • Ensure smooth and timely movement of patients from Emergency to ICU, OT, wards, diagnostics, and other departments. • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, insurance/TPA, diagnostics, pharmacy, housekeeping, security, and ambulance teams. • Assist in managing patient and attendant queries, complaints, and service-related concerns. • Ensure all required patient documentation and records are completed accurately and maintained as per hospital policies. • Monitor emergency patient flow and escalate delays or operational issues to the concerned authority. • Coordinate with the ambulance and transport team for incoming and outgoing emergency cases. • Support insurance/TPA coordination and ensure timely completion of necessary formalities. • Maintain awareness of hospital emergency protocols, safety standards, and NABH/JCI requirements. • Assist in maintaining patient confidentiality, safety, and service standards. • Monitor availability of wheelchairs, stretchers, and other non-clinical support services. • Prepare and maintain daily operational reports, patient statistics, and other departmental MIS. • Coordinate during medico-legal cases (MLC) and ensure appropriate escalation and documentation. • Support emergency preparedness activities, mock drills, disaster management, and mass casualty preparedness. • Ensure professional communication and courteous interaction with patients and attendants. • Identify operational gaps and coordinate with respective departments for timely resolution. Qualification • Graduate in any discipline. • BHA / BBA / MBA / MHA / Hospital Administration preferred. Experience • 1–4 years of experience in hospital operations, emergency services, front office, patient services, or healthcare administration. • Experience in a hospital Emergency Department will be preferred.
