Battery Production Engineer

About the Role We are looking for a Battery Production Engineer with hands-on experience in lithium-ion battery pack manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for executing production activities, ensuring quality standards, meeting production targets, and driving continuous improvement across the battery assembly line. Key Responsibilities - Execute end-to-end battery pack manufacturing and assembly operations. - Perform cell sorting, matching, spot welding, busbar assembly, BMS integration, wiring, insulation, enclosure assembly, and final battery pack assembly. - Operate and monitor battery production equipment and assembly fixtures. - Ensure adherence to production plans while achieving daily output targets. - Conduct battery testing including OCV, IR, capacity, charge-discharge, leakage, and functional testing. - Ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards throughout the production process. - Identify production issues and coordinate with Quality and Maintenance teams for timely resolution. - Monitor process parameters and maintain production records, check sheets, and daily MIS reports. - Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and ensure accurate process updates. - Support continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S activities. - Maintain ESD compliance, workplace safety, and proper handling of lithium-ion cells and battery packs. - Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Stores, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth production flow. - Train and guide production operators on assembly processes and safety practices. Required Skills - Hands-on experience in lithium-ion battery pack assembly. - Strong understanding of battery cell chemistry, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and pack configurations. - Knowledge of spot welding, laser welding, battery testing equipment, and production tools. - Familiarity with production documentation, BOMs, SOPs, and quality systems. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions. - Basic knowledge of SAP or any ERP system. - Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Proficiency in MS Excel and production reporting.
