Job Description: Mechanical Utility Engineer / Lead Position Title: Mechanical Utility Engineer / Lead Facilities Engineer Department: Facilities / Plant Engineering Employment Type: Full-Time Notice Period Requirement: 15 to 20 Days MAXIMUM (Immediate joiners highly preferred) Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and responsive Mechanical Utility Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our plants critical mechanical utilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in managing a wide array of industrial mechanical systems to ensure 100% facility uptime, safety compliance, and energy efficiency. Please Note: Due to criticality, we are strictly looking for candidates who can onboard and assume responsibilities within 15 to 20 days of offer acceptance. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for the end-to-end operations, preventive maintenance (PM), and troubleshooting of the following critical plant utility systems: • HVAC & Air Management: Operate and maintain massive industrial HVAC systems and Process Exhaust (PEX) networks to ensure strict environmental and process control. • Cooling Systems: Oversee central Chiller plants, Cooling Towers (CT), and Process Cooling Water (PCW) loops, ensuring optimal temperatures for manufacturing equipment. • Pneumatics & Air: Manage Clean Dry Air (CDA) compressor systems and associated distribution pipelines. • Specialty Fluids: Safely manage Specialty Gas and Chemical distribution systems, adhering to strict hazardous material protocols. • Water & Wastewater Treatment: • Manage the operation and maintenance of Ultra Pure Water (UPW) generation and distribution systems. • Oversee comprehensive Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) facilities to ensure strict environmental compliance and sustainability targets. • General Operations: • Execute daily utility rounds, logging system performance, and identifying deviations. • Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for utility breakdowns and implement corrective actions. • Manage utility vendors, AMC contractors, and spare parts inventory. Qualifications & Experience • Education: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • Experience: Minimum 510 years of dedicated experience in mechanical utilities management, preferably in continuous manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, or heavy chemical industries. • Technical Expertise: Deep practical knowledge of HVAC, Chillers, UPW, ETP/ZLD, and compressed air systems. • Safety First: Strong understanding of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards, particularly regarding gas, chemical, and high-pressure system handling.
