Role & responsibilities • Ensure achievement of daily production targets in the Weld Shop. • Monitor and control robotic welding, spot welding, MIG welding, and assembly operations. • Ensure smooth line operations with optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials. • Monitor productivity, cycle time, OEE, downtime, and rejection levels. • Implement TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives. • Analyze production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions. • Ensure adherence to quality standards and support defect reduction activities. • Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores, and SCM teams for uninterrupted production. • Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, and other problem-solving tools. • Ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S practices, and shop floor discipline. • Manage shift operations, manpower allocation, attendance, and performance monitoring. • Monitor machine breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance teams for quick restoration. • Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, and process optimization projects. • Ensure proper documentation of production reports, shift reports, and MIS. • Train and develop operators for skill enhancement and operational excellence. Preferred candidate profile • Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline. • 2-10 years of experience in Weld Shop Production within Automotive OEMs or Auto Component Manufacturing. • Hands-on experience in Robotic Welding, Spot Welding, MIG Welding, and Body Shop operations. • Strong knowledge of production processes, line balancing, cycle time improvement, and productivity enhancement. • Experience in handling automated welding lines and welding fixtures. • Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and Continuous Improvement methodologies. • Ability to monitor and improve OEE, quality, productivity, and cost parameters. • Experience in manpower planning, shift management, and shop floor operations. • Strong problem-solving skills using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Root Cause Analysis techniques. • Familiarity with quality systems, defect reduction, and customer requirements in automotive manufacturing. • Working knowledge of SAP/ERP and MS Excel. • Good communication, leadership, and team management skills. • Willingness to work in shifts and a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
