Procurement Engineer

Job description

Role & responsibilities • Develop and execute domestic sourcing and procurement strategies. • Manage procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, MRO, and indirect purchases. • Support commercial negotiations, annual contracts, and supplier selection. • Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and working capital improvement initiatives. • Develop alternate suppliers and strengthen supplier performance through regular reviews. • Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted plant operations. • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Logistics. • Mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and supplier diversification. • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, statutory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices. • Lead, mentor, and develop the domestic procurement team to achieve departmental objectives. Preferred candidate profile -Bachelors degree in engineering; MBA in Supply Chain/Operations preferred.
