Role & responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Execution • Prepare project schedules, construction milestones, resource deployment plans, and execution strategies. • Monitor execution of civil, structural, and architectural works related to the weld shop project. • Ensure project completion within approved timelines, budget, and quality standards. • Track project progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays. 2. Robot Line Infrastructure Development • Coordinate construction of robot foundations, pits, trenches, cable routing, and equipment base frames. • Ensure dimensional accuracy and readiness of robotic cells, welding fixtures, conveyors, and automation systems. • Coordinate with robot suppliers, machine builders, and system integrators during installation and commissioning. • Ensure infrastructure compliance with technical specifications and layout requirements. 3. Utility & Facility Management • Ensure timely installation and commissioning of: • Electrical Substations & LT Panels • Cable Trays & Power Distribution Systems • Compressed Air Systems • Welding Gas Pipelines • HVAC & Ventilation Systems • Lighting & Shop-floor Utilities • Firefighting & Drainage Systems • Verify utility readiness before equipment installation and production trials. 4. Contractor & Vendor Management • Supervise civil, structural, MEP, utility, and fabrication contractors. • Monitor contractor performance, work quality, progress, and productivity. • Verify contractor bills and work completion certifications. • Resolve technical issues and execution challenges at project sites. 5. Quality Management • Ensure all construction and installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. • Conduct inspections and quality audits for civil, structural, utility, and equipment installation activities. • Identify quality deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions. • Maintain project quality documentation and inspection records. 6. Safety & EHS Compliance • Ensure adherence to construction safety standards, EHS policies, and permit-to-work systems. • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety audits. • Monitor contractor safety compliance and corrective actions. • Achieve zero major safety incidents throughout project execution. 7. Equipment Installation & Commissioning • Coordinate robotic welding line installation and commissioning activities. • Support fixture setting, robotic cell installation, conveyor alignment, and utility integration. • Monitor machine trial runs, process validation, and production readiness. • Facilitate smooth handover to Production and Maintenance teams. 8. Stakeholder Coordination • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, Projects, EHS, and external consultants. • Prepare and present project status reports, progress updates, and risk reviews to senior management. • Support statutory approvals and regulatory compliance activities. • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project completion. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Project Completion as per Schedule (%) • Budget Adherence (%) • Infrastructure Readiness Achievement (%) • Utility Installation Completion (%) • Safety Performance (Zero Major Incidents) • Quality Audit Compliance Score (%) • Contractor Performance Rating • Equipment Installation & Commissioning Success Rate • Project Milestone Achievement (%) • Stakeholder Satisfaction & Timely Reporting Preferred candidate profile • 8 to 12 years of experience in industrial construction and manufacturing facility projects. • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in automotive weld shop, BIW (Body-in-White) line, robotic welding automation, or manufacturing plant projects. • Proven experience in Greenfield and Brownfield expansion projects, including plant setup, infrastructure development, and equipment installation. • Hands-on exposure to civil, structural, utility, MEP, and automation project execution. • Strong coordination experience with contractors, vendors, robot suppliers, and cross-functional teams. • Knowledge of project planning, budgeting, quality management, safety compliance, and commissioning activities.
