Job Summary The Research Analyst Commodities will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis of domestic and global commodity markets to provide timely, actionable investment recommendations for institutional and retail clients. The role requires a strong understanding of macroeconomic factors, commodity fundamentals, and technical analysis to develop market outlooks and identify trading and investment opportunities across commodity segments. Key Responsibilities • Analyse domestic and global commodity markets, including precious metals, base metals, energy, and other relevant commodity segments. • Undertake both fundamental and technical analysis to assess market trends, price movements, and investment opportunities. • Prepare daily, weekly, and periodic commodity research reports providing: • Overall market outlook. • Investment recommendations. • Specific trading and investment views on individual commodities. • Track and interpret macroeconomic developments, including central bank policies, inflation trends, interest rates, currency movements, geopolitical events, and global economic indicators to assess their impact on commodity markets. • Monitor supply-demand dynamics, inventory levels, production trends, weather patterns (where applicable), and other market drivers affecting commodity prices. • Develop price forecasts and generate actionable recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders. • Present market views through reports, presentations, webinars, client interactions, and media engagements as required. • Collaborate with sales, dealing, and advisory teams to provide timely market intelligence and support business objectives. • Continuously monitor market developments and update investment recommendations based on changing market conditions. Desired Candidate Profile • Strong knowledge of commodity markets, derivatives, and global macroeconomic trends. • Proficiency in conducting both fundamental and technical analysis of commodity markets. • Ability to convert complex market data into clear, actionable investment recommendations. • Excellent analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills. • Experience using market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar financial information systems is preferred. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • Educational Qualifications • MBA (Finance), CFA, CA, Economics, Commerce, Finance, or any related discipline. • Relevant certifications in technical analysis or financial markets will be an added advantage.
