Senior Manager - Packaging (Spares - Passenger Vehicles)

**Purpose of the Role** This role will be responsible to ensure efficient & cost effective Transportation & Transit Insurance arrangement across supply chain (Vendors, All PDCs & CPs) of PVBU Spares and adherence of transportation & transit insurance performance as per the Standard Operating Procedure for Transportation of Spare Parts in order to maximise serviceability of parts to customers and meet business targets within company policies, management objectives and statutory & legal compliances. **Job Responsibility** **1. Contribution to planning:** Identify need & formulate transportation solution as per business requirement. Float Request for Quotations (RFQs) & invite proposals, prepare comparative synopsis and recommendations. Prepare POs and ensure timely settlement of vendor bills. Managing Transportation spend within approved budget. Plan and Monitor vehicle loads, vehicle indent & correct selection of mode of dispatch for transportation as per set process. **2. Key actions and decisions (Long term and Short term)** - Implement new initiatives like World Class Service, Daily VOR Service, Online Transport Management Systems (TMS). Monitor Share of Business for transporters based on core strength network areas and performance Establish & Update SOPs for transportation management viz Vehicle planning, Consignment Booking & Vehicle loading process for minimizing the Turn Around Time (TAT). **3. Transportation Performance Monitoring** Monitor in-transit Stock Transfer Orders (STO) vehicles on daily basis and follow through with transporters for timely delivery to PDCs. Communicate the transit status of vehicles to PDCs for timely planning of resources for receipt activities. Monitor exception reports and communication with transporters for the delayed consignments on daily basis and ask for the action plans to ensure correction and improvements. Evaluate transporters' performance on monthly basis in line with the agreed norms and highlighting the performance trend & debits proposal in case of failures For ensuring timely delivery of consignments Transportation & Transit Insurance query management (For Channel Partners, Field Service & Sales) Organise & co-ordinate with transporters for urgent VOR parts pick up from vendor/ PDCs, advise for priority connections and close follow up till the delivery. Follow-up with transporters for resolution of customer queries on delay in delivery, damages & shortages. Continuous interaction with Insurance agency for customer queries on transit damage/short claim and claim settlement. For timely resolution of customer queries **4. Permit Management** Co-ordinate with sales team & channel partners for organizing necessary permits to avoid vehicle detention Train PDC teams on permit management system Update all PDCs dispatch teams and transporters on changes in permit requirements as per Government notifications. Carry out permit correctness audit before consignment leaves the PDC so as to ensure 100% compliance with the norms. In order to ensure on time dispatch of consignments in line with statutory requirements **5. Transit loss claims monitoring** Review & report other pending claim status with Insurance agency Interface with channel partners for deferred cases & support them on requirements of documents and photos for early settlement of claims. Coordinate with Transporters for providing certificate of facts ( for damages) & short certificates ( for shortages) as per Insurance agency requirements In order to ensure timely claim settlement **6. Nature of problems faced/ Scope of improvement opportunities:** Resolve Spares Help Desk & Service Head Quarters complaints on transportation & transit insurance on CRM complaint module. Formulate & monitor implementation of corrective & preventive action plan for recurring customer complaints Desired Candidate Profile - Education B.E / B.Tech Full Time - Relevant Experience: 3-10 yrs of experiences in Logistics. - Experience in direct dealing with Transporters/ Vendors
