Job Description Senior Executive Supply Chain Management (SCM) Department: Supply Chain Operations Location: Indore Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 35 Years Reports To: Supply Chain / Operations Manager Position Overview We are looking for a Senior Executive Supply Chain Management (SCM) to manage and coordinate end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement, demand planning, inventory management, logistics, and vendor management. The role will focus on ensuring smooth material flow, optimizing inventory levels, improving vendor performance, controlling supply chain costs, and supporting business and operational requirements through effective planning and data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities 1. Logistics Freight Management • Manage inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and efficient movement of materials. • Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, and 3PL partners for smooth logistics operations. • Monitor shipment status, delivery timelines, and freight costs. • Coordinate customs clearance and ensure required documentation is completed accurately. • Identify opportunities for freight cost optimization and logistics efficiency. 2. Demand Planning Forecasting • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to understand demand requirements. • Align procurement schedules with demand forecasts and production plans. • Monitor demand fluctuations and proactively identify potential supply gaps. • Ensure timely availability of materials to support production and business requirements. 3. Procurement Sourcing • Manage purchasing activities for raw materials, components, consumables, and services. • Source and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and service capabilities. • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and SLAs with domestic and international suppliers. • Support cost-saving initiatives and ensure procurement is aligned with business requirements. • Maintain effective supplier relationships and ensure timely procurement of required materials. 4. Inventory Management • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability and safety stock. • Track inventory across warehouses and distribution centers. • Identify slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and shortage inventory. • Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconciliation. • Implement measures to reduce inventory holding costs while preventing stockouts. 5. Vendor Management • Monitor supplier performance against key metrics such as OTIF delivery, quality, lead time, and cost variance. • Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and develop corrective action plans where required. • Build strong and sustainable relationships with key suppliers. • Support supplier development and performance improvement initiatives. 6. Data Analytics Reporting • Track and report key SCM KPIs related to procurement, inventory, logistics, lead time, and vendor performance. • Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, cost leakages, and improvement opportunities. • Prepare regular MIS and management reports. • Present actionable insights and recommendations to senior management. 7. Compliance Quality • Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, procurement policies, and quality standards. • Ensure compliance with applicable import/export regulations and statutory requirements. • Maintain accurate procurement, logistics, and vendor documentation. • Ensure compliance with applicable customs procedures and Incoterms for international transactions. Qualifications Experience • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. • 35 years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or operations. • MBA in Supply Chain / Operations or APICS certification will be an added advantage. • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP MM/SD, Oracle SCM, or Microsoft Dynamics 365. • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Power Query. • Experience in manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, or related industries will be preferred.
