Track Manager - Disaster Recovery Solution, Disaster Recovery Chennai, Tamil Nadu Job Summary Job Description : Disaster Recovery Manager will be tasked with the following responsibilities:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Assume management responsibility for IT disaster recovery for systems within in-scope in Biogen, with a major focus on achieving all contractual agreements, recommending adequacy of end-state production recovery environments to Biogen DR Director, meeting all strategic planning deliverables.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Coordinate and conduct DR exercise and create DR exercise calendar.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Oversee the execution of the disaster recovery plan(s) when IT and/or major business operations disruptions occur or during DR exercises.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Oversee the design, execution and continuous improvement of the disaster recovery plan through DR exercising.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Manage the creation of program status communications, including audit report response and Biogen DR Director requests.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Provide expert guidance and expertise on all matters related to disaster recovery and business continuity management for IT operations.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Represent HCL DR team and first escalation point for Biogen DR Director.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Design, develop and coordinate disaster recovery strategies, technical architectures, operating standards and deployment methodologies.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Develop and maintain disaster recovery guidelines, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, measurement and reporting criteria.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Participate in and/or lead disaster recovery planning sessions, program and strategy development, deployment and fail-over testing.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Develops reusable disaster recovery collateral, standards and best practices. Leads evaluation of new technologies and presents recommendations.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Participate in the change management process and review the impact of proposed changes to the disaster recovery architectures.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Ensure recovery consideration is included in technology architecture reviews, technical upgrade projects and life-cycle refreshes\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Require strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, and excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Manage, coordinate and assist Technical team. \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nDesirable candidates will have the following qualifications:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Master\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s degree expected and at least 10+ years of IT experience.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Five+ years’ experience in disaster recovery.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Experience in risk management, business continuity a plus.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• ISO 22301, CBCP, MBCP, CISSA, CISSP or PMP certification a plus.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Expert knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuance policies, procedures, regulations and governance processes required.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements impacting company (e.g. HIPPA, SOX, etc), required.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Strong knowledge of ITIL practices.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with colleagues in remote locations.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Experience with business continuity software preferred.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate events or international schedules when necessary. Lead disaster recovery exercise management by developing, executing, and refining DR test plans using industry-standard tools and frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational DR technology strategy. 2. Oversee the implementation and optimization of DR automation tools and backup technologies to enhance operational efficiency and minimize recovery time objectives (RTOs) across large-scale IT environments. 3. Provide expert guidance on DR technology strategy by evaluating emerging technologies, recommending improvements, and driving adoption of best-in-class solutions to strengthen business continuity. 4. Collaborate with internal teams to analyze and interpret client DR requirements, ensuring operational processes and solutions meet or exceed client SLAs and compliance standards. 5. Mentor and empower DR teams by sharing expert knowledge, facilitating transparent communication of DR objectives, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous process improvement. 6. Identify, assess, and resolve complex DR challenges by devising strategic solutions that address business risks and enhance organizational resilience.
