**Role & responsibilities** We are looking for a detail-oriented HR Operations professional with strong expertise in Indian payroll processing and statutory compliances. The incumbent will own the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensure 100% statutory compliance, and support day-to-day HR operations, working closely with Finance, vendors, and employees. Key Responsibilities Payroll Management - Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing, including inputs collection (attendance, leaves, new joiners, exits, incentives, reimbursements, salary revisions). - Validate payroll outputs, reconcile variances, and ensure accurate and timely salary disbursement. - Handle Full & Final settlements, gratuity, bonus, and leave encashment calculations. - Manage employee queries related to salary, tax deductions, payslips, and reimbursements within defined TATs. - Coordinate investment proof collection and verification for income tax purposes; support Form 16 issuance. Statutory Compliance - Ensure timely deposits and return filings for PF, ESIC, Professional Tax (PT), LWF, and TDS (Form 24Q). - Maintain compliance under key labour laws Shops & Establishments Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Maternity Benefit Act, CLRA (as applicable). **HR Operations** - Manage employee lifecycle processes – onboarding documentation, HRMS data management, confirmations, transfers, and exit formalities. - Maintain and audit employee master data, personnel files, and HR trackers with high accuracy. - Administer employee benefits (Mediclaim / GPA / GTL insurance enrollments, additions, deletions, claims coordination). - Generate HR MIS reports and dashboards (headcount, attrition, payroll cost, compliance status) for management review. - Support HR policy implementation, letters administration (offer, appointment, increment, relieving), and process improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications - Graduate / Postgraduate in HR, Commerce, or a related field (MBA-HR preferred). - 2–5 years of relevant experience in HR Operations with strong hands-on exposure to Indian payroll and statutory compliance. - Sound working knowledge of PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS, gratuity, and bonus provisions. - Proficiency in MS Office is a must – advanced Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, conditional formulas, data validation), Word, and PowerPoint. - Experience working on HRMS / payroll software (e.g., Peoplestrong, Keka, greytHR, Zoho People, Darwinbox, SAP, or similar). - High attention to detail, strong numerical ability, and commitment to confidentiality of payroll data. - Good communication and interpersonal skills to handle employee queries and coordinate with cross-functional teams. Good to Have - Exposure to multi-state compliance handling. - Experience supporting statutory / internal audits independently. - Knowledge of the new Labour Codes and their implications.
