Mechanical Engineer-Battery Design

Job description

**Role Overview:** We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer-battery design with strong expertise in SolidWorks to support the design and development of battery modules and packs for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical design and enclosure development, with a clear understanding of thermal, structural, and manufacturability considerations. **Responsibilities** - Design and develop battery pack enclosures, module structures, and mechanical interfaces using SolidWorks. - Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability. - Work on cell and module layout, mechanical integration, and packaging optimization. - Collaborate with BMS, electrical, and thermal teams for complete system integration. - Conduct tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and DFM/DFA reviews to ensure robust product performance. - Coordinate with vendors and tooling suppliers for prototype and mass production readiness. - Support design validation, including vibration, thermal, and mechanical testing. - Contribute to cost reduction and weight optimization through value engineering. **Qualifications** - B.E./B.Tech. in mechanical or mechatronics engineering. - 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in battery systems or EV components. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory); knowledge of AutoCAD or CATIA/NX is a plus. - Knowledge of thermal management, sealing (IP ratings), and structural integrity. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functionality. **Preferred Skills** - Baja, Supra, and SAE participation.
