With a broad product portfolio and exports to more than 100 countries, JSW Steel is recognized worldwide for high-end, value-added steel products. **Role Description** The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Odisha, India, responsible for overseeing daily steel manufacturing operations and ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently. This role involves planning and scheduling production activities, monitoring plant performance, optimizing resource utilization, and coordinating with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams. The Production Manager will implement process improvements, support adherence to safety and environmental standards, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role also includes leading and developing production teams, resolving operational issues, preparing reports and performance metrics, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives aligned with JSW Steel’s sustainability and technology-focused culture. **Qualifications** - Strong production management and planning abilities, including experience with manufacturing operations, scheduling, and resource allocation. - Knowledge of steel or heavy industry processes, with skills in process optimization, quality control, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. - Leadership and people management capabilities, including team supervision, performance management, and effective communication across functions. - Analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in using production data, KPIs, and reporting tools to drive operational decisions. - Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, supply chain, and engineering to ensure smooth plant operations. - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Production, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate degree in operations or management is an advantage. - Prior experience in a steel plant or large-scale industrial manufacturing environment is highly beneficial. - Comfort working in an on-site, shift-based environment and readiness to comply with all health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
