The Area Sales Manager (ASM) leads channel strategy, sales execution, and team performance for the Consumer Care General Trade business. The role is accountable for driving sales growth, executing go-to-market plans, expanding distribution, and delivering profitable business outcomes. The ASM translates regional targets into clear area-level action plans, ensuring consistent delivery of sales, distribution, and visibility objectives. By leveraging data-driven insights and strong performance management, the role identifies growth opportunities, closes execution gaps, and enhances overall sales effectiveness. A key part of the role is building high-performing teams and strengthening distributor partnerships, while optimizing route-to-market strategies. The ASM works closely with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure alignment and drive sustainable market share growth. **Role & responsibilities** • Drive sales targets & market share in your assigned territory • Execute Go-To-Market plans and improve outlet coverage & distribution efficiency - Manage distributors, retailers, and stockists while enhancing field force capability • Lead product launches, brand activations, and trade schemes • Monitor competition, analyse market trends, and provide strategic inputs - Ensure depot coordination, stock hygiene, and damage claim settlements - Motivate and manage a team of Sales Executives and Market Reporters **Preferred candidate profile** • 510 years of FMCG sales experience, including at least 3 years as an ASM in Personal Care (General Trade). - Proven expertise in TOT negotiations, claims management, and sales forecasting. - MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management. - Trade Marketing experience preferred. **Required Skills & competencies** • Deep understanding of FMCG sales, Personal Care categories, compliance and industry outlook • Strategic thinking with strong execution focus • Strong leadership and people management capability • Good at communication, negotiation and analytical skills • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint; SAP knowledge .
