**Job description** **PURPOSE OF THE JOB:** **Effective and efficient management of the logistics and supply chain operations resulting in enhanced service levels and optimum spend. To coordinate implementation of logistics and SCM initiatives in liaison with Head Office.** **KEY FOCUS AREAS:** - **Transportation management.** - **Warehouse operations and performance monitoring.** - **Inventory norms at warehouses.** - **Ensuring high service levels.** - **Logistics spend management and benchmarking.** - **Statutory compliance in transportation and warehousing.** - **EHS compliance in warehouses.** **PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:** **1.** **Transport Management** - **Improvements in truck turn around time, material handling efficiencies, safety and hygiene at the branch-warehouses.** - **Continuously evaluate the warehousing & transportation network design to optimize costs.** - **Implementing initiatives in logistics in coordination with logistics manager, Head Office.** **2. Warehouse Management** - **Optimum spends on transportation and warehousing resulting in meeting benchmark freight & warehousing cost/unit targets.** - **Drive warehouse audit (material handling, infrastructure, hygiene, safety, systems) feedback and corrective actions.** - **Infrastructure development and new warehouse selection, service provider evaluation for the same.** - **Developing existing warehouse's capability (training) in the light of increased throughputs and complexity of operations. Develop alternative vendors to meet gaps.** **3. Inventory Management** - **Monitoring pipelines of various categories at the warehouse stage.** - **Monitoring safety stocks with respect to to changing dynamics of supply lead-time and demand variations and highlighting areas for improvement.** **4. Statutory Compliance** - **Monitor and provide feedback on transport and WSP operations within the purview of the guidelines and regulations.**
