**JOB DESCRIPTION** **Position Title:** Lead / Manager Utility Instrumentation **Department:** Plant Operations & Maintenance (O&M) – Utilities **Project Scale:** 10 GW Greenfield Cell Manufacturing Plant **Location:** Unn, Navsari (Gujarat) **Employment Type:** Full-Time **1. Purpose of the Role** To manage the erection, commissioning, and continuous maintenance of all utility instrumentation and control systems for a highly automated 10 GW solar cell manufacturing facility. This role ensures the precise monitoring, control, and automation of critical mechanical and electrical utilities, guaranteeing stable parameters (temperature, pressure, flow, and purity) required for continuous, high-tech manufacturing processes. **2. Key Responsibilities & Result Areas (KRAs)** **Project Execution & Commissioning:** - Supervise the installation, loop checking, and commissioning of field instruments and control systems for all plant utilities. - Oversee the automation setup for critical utility packages, including Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) plants, HVAC systems, industrial chillers, compressed air, and bulk gas/chemical distribution systems. - Ensure seamless integration of utility control panels with the central SCADA and DCS networks. **Operations, Automation & Maintenance (O&M):** - Lead the 24/7 troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance of PLCs, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems governing the utility infrastructure. - Establish and execute rigorous calibration schedules for all field instruments, including sensors, transmitters (flow, level, pressure, temperature), and automated control valves. - Maintain uninterrupted continuous data logging and historical trending to detect anomalies in utility performance before they impact manufacturing lines. **Process Optimization & Reliability:** - Optimize control loops (PID tuning) to maximize the energy efficiency and stability of utility equipment (e.g., cooling towers, cleanroom HVAC, and gas scrubbers). - Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any instrumentation failures or automation system breakdowns, implementing permanent corrective actions. - Manage the instrumentation inventory, ensuring adequate stock of critical spare sensors, modules, and control components. **Compliance, Safety & Team Management:** - Ensure all instrumentation and calibration practices comply with ISO standards and strict cleanroom facility requirements. - Implement safety instrumented systems (SIS) and fail-safe interlocks to prevent hazardous conditions in chemical and gas handling utilities. - Lead and train a team of instrumentation engineers and technicians. - Coordinate effectively with automation OEMs and manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs). **3. Candidate Profile & Requirements** **Educational Qualifications:** - **Mandatory:** B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. **Work Experience:** - 10 to 15+ years of dedicated experience in utility instrumentation, automation, and control systems. - Mandatory experience in continuous-process greenfield manufacturing setups (such as Semiconductor, Solar Cell/Wafer, Heavy Chemicals, or Pharmaceutical plants). **Technical & Behavioral Skills:** - Expert-level proficiency in major PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Yokogawa, or ABB) and SCADA architecture. - Hands-on experience calibrating and troubleshooting precision flow meters, gas analyzers, and VFD-integrated control systems. - Strong understanding of cleanroom utility environments and high-purity fluid/gas measurement. - Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with mechanical utility and electrical operations teams.
